The cannery I worked at. Andy said there the first night.
There were lots of bears. This one is looking for some cannery scraps.
View from the mountain behind the cannery.

Isn't this a beautiful picture!
Andy and my dad spent a week in Alaska. From the pictures you can see what a wonderful time they had. They had a couple days of hairy weather but of course this is typical of Alaska. Andy got to experience Alaska in its raw form. The days they flew into the cannery and out of their fish camp (on a seaplane) their plane was the only one that flew. The flights can be pretty scary!
Andy has some great stories about the Kodiak brown bears. Ryan has really taken to them and it is so cute to hear him recount them. He told my mom that a big black bear was coming after daddy. Daddy fell in a hole . He was scared and he isn't talking. The really version is Andy and Clint were fishing on river when all of a sudden a big brown bear sticks its head out of the brush. Clint yells bear (which is right behind him) and almost has a heart attack. Andy takes off across the river to get away and falls in a hole leaving him shoulder deep in the water. At this point in the story Andy told Ryan he was scared. Ryan asked if the bear was "talking" and dad said no the bear wasn't growling. :) All night Ryan kept saying "and you were scared?" The next morning the first thing out of his mouth... "and you fell in a hole and you were scared?" It is so precious.
We are glad dad is home. We missed him and papa but were glad they could share just a great adventure.
